Your mission

El   Instituto de Investigación contra la Leucemia Josep Carreras   (IJC) es un instituto de investigación sin ánimo de lucro con sede en Barcelona dedicado a avanzar en el conocimiento de la leucemia y trastornos relacionados, en colaboración con la Universidad de Barcelona y la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. El IJC tiene laboratorios en 6 campus clínicos: i) Hospital Clínic, ii) Hospital de Sant Pau, iii) Hospital Germans Trias Pujol, iv) Hospital del Mar, v) Hospital Josep Trueta Girona y vi) Hospital Sant Joan de Déu. El IJC sirve como un centro de colaboración para que investigadores básicos y médicos trabajen juntos en aspectos clínicos y biológicos fundamentales de la leucemia. El IJC ofrece un excelente entorno de trabajo basado en una fusión multidisciplinaria de ideas e instalaciones de vanguardia.


El Instituto de Investigación contra la Leucemia Josep Carreras Can Ruti busca un   Investigador Postdoctoral    altamente motivado para incorporarse al grupo de Biología de células madre, leucemias del desarrollo e inmunoterapia liderado por   el Dr. Pablo Menéndez.     Este contrato está vinculado al proyecto     CPP2022-009759     “Desarrollo de una terapia CAR-T dual dirigida a CD1a/CCR9 para el tratamiento de la leucemia linfoblástica aguda de células TR/R”, financiado por MCIN/AEI/10.13039/ 501100011033 y por la Unión Europea “NextGenerationEU”/PRTR.

 

Nuestro grupo se interesa por comprender el origen celular, la etiología y la patogénesis de la leucemia infantil. Nuestro objetivo es determinar la célula en la que se producen las mutaciones y nos esforzamos por descubrir qué células son responsables de desencadenar las recaídas. Además, trabajamos para identificar nuevas dianas terapéuticas y desarrollar terapias más específicas y menos tóxicas. Para lograrlo, nuestro laboratorio utiliza diversos enfoques, incluidos estudios genéticos, técnicas epigenéticas y modelos animales, así como herramientas de inmunoterapia celular adoptiva.


Responsabilidades principales

 

  • Diseñar y ejecutar experimentos in vitro e in vivo utilizando muestras de leucemia primaria, inmunoterapias adoptivas y ratones inmunodeficientes.
  • Dirigir proyectos, subvenciones y redacción de manuscritos.
  • Comunicarse eficientemente con oficinas de abogados de patentes y colaboradores externos en inmunología molecular y celular.
  • Co-supervisar un proyecto de doctorado.
  • Colaborar con los miembros del laboratorio en proyectos en curso. 
Your profile

What we need

 

  • PhD in Life Sciences.
  • Previous relevant postdoctoral training.
  • Excellent track record of publications related to hematological cancer and immunotherapy. At least two first-author publications in solid journals are required.
  • Experience in the identification and validation of new targets for cancer therapy. 
  • Experience in acute leukemia and/or lymphoma.
  • Experience in cellular immunotherapies.
  • Experience in handling and processing primary samples and NSG xenograft experiments.
  • Good communication skills in English and capacity to work independently. Catalan and/or Spanish would be a plus
  • Experience in supervising students.
  • Motivation to achieve a high quality in your work.
