Your mission

The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (Badalona, Barcelona, Spain) is looking for a Project Manager to manage the Marie Skłodowska Curie Doctoral Training Network (DN) NUCLEAR with Grant Agreement number 101166838 (soon at www.nuclear-dn.eu) led by Marcus Buschbeck. The NUCLEAR network is training 17 PhD fellows from 16 organisations, both academic and non-academic, in the metabolic regulation of the genome.


Main responsibilities

 

As Project Manager integrated in the IJC Grants Office, you will be responsible for the management of the research and training network NUCLEAR (MSCA-DN) and support the Project Coordinator Marcus Buschbeck. You will be the interaction hub between all involved administrative units and researchers from the IJC and all participating partners from different EU as well other non-EU countries. You will be the key contact for the 17 PhD fellows recruited through the project. In particular, you will execute all management-related tasks that will include:


  • Coordination of all management aspects related to the project such as preparation and execution of meetings, agendas and minutes, recruitment processes, and assisting the Project Coordinators in daily coordinating activities.
  • Organization and administration of all training activities, both virtual and in-person, to be organized within the framework of the project, including travel and accommodation/catering arrangements as needed.
  • Management of the reporting obligations of the consortium. 
  • Financial and legal follow-up of the project (including budget control) and reporting to the European Commission (REA).
  • Set up and implementation of quality procedures, including risk management and feedback processes.
  • Coordinating and documenting the communication and dissemination activities of the network in collaboration with the Communications Units of each beneficiary. This will include the management of the NUCLEAR website and social media.
  • Participate in other activities of the Coordinator and the Grants Office.
Your profile

What we need

 

  • You hold a master’s degree in Life Sciences. Having a PhD will be highly valued, as well as previous research experience and interest in metabolism, cancer and epigenetics.
  • Interest to participate in the scientific supervision of one of the PhD students will be positively evaluated.
  • You have experience in project management, ideally in European projects MSCA of the Horizon 2020 or Horizon Europe framework programmes.
  • You are a highly organized person, collaborative and communicative.
  • You have capacities in problem-solving, prioritization, and autonomous time and workflow management.
  • You have a high level of proficiency in spoken and written English as this will be the working language of the network. Knowledge of Spanish and/or Catalan will be a plus.
  • You are proficient in working with MS Office suite tools, have experience in or willingness to learn content management systems (CMS); experience using data bases will be positively valued.
